By the time the study was completed, the group that ate the larger breakfast had lost two and a half times more weight than the group with the smaller breakfast. They also lost an average of 4.6 inches more from their waistlines than the women whose largest meal of the day was dinner.
Furthermore, the women who ate the larger breakfasts also registered having higher levels of good cholesterol and lower levels of bad cholesterol than the women who ate the smaller breakfasts. Those who had the smaller dinners had better insulin sensitivity than those who had the big dinners.
What was also interesting is that the women who ate the bigger breakfasts also reported that they felt more satisfied and less hungry than those who had the smaller breakfasts.
